Job Details

Job Purpose

 

This Director of Sales is responsible for the selling, planning, and coordinating of all aspects of Golf Tournaments, Membership Sales and Private Events. Working closely with the sales team, the Director of Sales creates and implements strategies to meet sales targets, maximize profitability and create memorable guest experiences.

 

Salary Range - $70,000 base + monthly commissions. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Generate a definitive sales and marketing plan to achieve departmental revenue goals and meet or exceed sales goals and budgets
  • Be an ambassador for the property by fostering relationships with individuals & corporations who book tournaments, events and membership
  • Maintain repeatable and predictable business while prospecting for new Golf Tournaments, Private Club Memberships and Private Events
  • Develop market segments and solicit new customer relationships while maintaining existing relationships
  • Sell and market to external markets may encompass corporate events/meetings/trainings, charities, foundations, non-profits, others may include school athletic tournaments, and memorials
  • Be an ambassador for the property, fostering relationships with individuals & corporations who book tournaments, events and membership to maintain repeatable and predictable business while prospecting for new Golf Tournaments, Private Club Memberships and Private Events
  • Heighten awareness externally with the community from the club to golf shows, bridal shows and other public events
  • Responsible for being a positive role model in both social media formats and public forums by being active and showing consistent participation in all public facing opportunities
  • Work closely with the Event team & Executive Chef when designing custom menus and the entire management team to communicate upcoming events
  • Attract, develop, and retain key sales personnel
  • Generate a definitive sales and marketing plan to achieve departmental revenue goals which meet and exceed sales goals and budgets
  • Other duties may be assigned by management

 

Additional Information

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of how to use social media to drive sales is required including TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest etc.
  • Must have a positive, engaging, and team-oriented view on the workplace
  • Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and CRM
  • Thorough understanding of market trends for events, sales strategies and creative opportunities to drive business growth
  • Solid time management, organization and prioritization skills; ability to work with little or no direct supervision
  • Excellent customer service orientation and focus on customer satisfaction required
  • Strong leadership and people skills, plus the ability to build and foster a team environment desired
  • Valid driver’s license required

Education

College degree preferred or 3 years of related experience in sales preferably in golf/hospitality/service industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Working Conditions

  • Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull. The employee may be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
