Job Details

Job Purpose

The Junior Golf Director is responsible for maintaining an excellent experience for junior golf members and parents by providing management, player development, and youth mentorship to maximize the benefits of the program.

 

Responsibilities

  • Enhance member relations by working with General Manager and department managers to deliver exceptional golf experiences for all junior golf members
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of player development and youth mentorship by developing relationships with all junior golf members and assisting in their enhancement both as a young golfer and as a positive young member of society
  • Implement life lessons taught through the game of life like honesty, self awareness, maintaining a positive attitude, hard work, perseverance, etc..
  • Oversee the organization and promotion of lesson programs, junior golf programs, junior golf tournaments, group and individual programs; coordinating with course management to effectively utilize facilities and tee times
  • Oversee and manage all junior golf facilities including but not limited to scheduling cleaning, maintenance, purchasing all necessary equipment and supplies required to run the program by submitting all invoices to AGC accounts payable department.
  • Manage junior golf operations staff by recruiting, selecting, hiring, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, supervising, evaluating, and carrying out disciplinary actions as necessary
  • Ensure prompt and professional response to all inquiries within 24 hours of the initial contact made. Phone calls should be returned via phone call and email responded to via email.
  • Create and follow an annual budget
  • Work closely with marketing AGC team to maintain competitive market knowledge, and to create and develop promotions, website, flyers, pamphlets, signup paperwork, and special events to increase junior golf membership
  • Maintain knowledge of teaching methodologies in the golf industry
  • Assist General Manager in the delivery of staff meetings to junior golf staff
  • Implement and support all AGC initiatives and programs as requested by management
  • Ensure that proper ratio of supervision to juniors is maintained and that the juniors are being supervised on course by assistants or parents
  • Meeting with parents to discuss junior development progress as well as to promote parental involvement in the program
  • Train junior golf staff to handle all payments and tee time management for the junior golf tee times without assistance from the pro shop staff
  • Maintain a positive attitude with all members of staff and customers.
  • Maintain weekly availability for hands on junior golf lessons conducted by the director.
  • Other duties may be assigned by management

$68,640 per year

Additional Information

Qualifications

  • PGA Class A Professional preferred
  • 5-10 years or more experience teaching the game of golf
  • 3-4 years experience in a management role preferred

 

Working Conditions

  • Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull.
  • You may be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation Base:

$68,640.00
