Job Purpose

 

The Senior Private Events Sales Director is a senior leadership role responsible for driving event sales strategy, expanding market presence, and overseeing the planning and execution of all private functions hosted at the venue. This role leads all aspects of event acquisition and client engagement, from cultivating high-value relationships to overseeing flawless event execution, to ensure both revenue growth and exceptional guest experiences.

 

This position works in close partnership with internal departments and executive leadership to align event initiatives with broader business goals, and serves as a visible ambassador for the property within the community and key markets. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy targeting key market segments including corporate functions, social milestones, weddings, nonprofit fundraisers, and high-profile community events.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding relationships with current clients to drive repeat business.
  • Represent the property at local and regional events, trade shows, and community functions to elevate brand visibility and generate new leads.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of a targeted sales and marketing plan to exceed departmental revenue goals, with strong collaboration across marketing and operations.
  • Ensure high-touch planning and coordination of all booked events, from initial client inquiry through post-event follow-up, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and seamless execution.
  • Provide strategic direction and mentorship to the event sales team, helping to set performance expectations, foster development, and ensure alignment with company goals.

 

 

Additional Information

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in senior-level event sales or hospitality sales management, with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of private events within golf, hospitality, or luxury service environments
  • Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding annual revenue targets
  • Highly proficient in CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital marketing platforms
  • Adept in social media marketing and engagement strategies 
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker with a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered

Working Conditions

  • Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull. The employee may be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation:

$90,000 plus commission.
