Responsibilities

Job Purpose

 The Server/Cook is responsible for bringing flavor to life using set menu specifications to delight our guests. This Server/Cook must be excellent multi-taskers and have experience moving around the kitchen while following instructions to create delicious meals. The ideal candidate has previous experience working as a cook in a bustling, fast-paced restaurant setting.

 

Responsibilities

▪ Cooks, prepares food, enforces safe food handling and storage procedures

▪ Maintains quality standards of food and beverage service by preparing and presenting menu items according to company standards and supervisor’s direction

▪ Ensures clean and orderly workspace by adhering to public health codes, sanitation and safety policies

▪ Verifies product stock and rotate as necessary, informing supervisor of item or equipment that needs to be ordered; may be responsible for ordering at supervisor’s discretion

▪ Completes approved opening duties at the beginning of each day

▪ Completes approved closing duties at the end of each day by organizing, cleaning and sanitizing workspace

▪ Responds to escalated member/guest service issues in a prompt and effective manner

 ▪ Assists members and guests in food and beverage selection by describing special offerings or menu changes, answering food preparation questions, recording member/guest selections and upselling where possible, relaying orders to kitchen, identifying any special requests and keying orders into register

 ▪ Delivers completed orders to customer providing appropriate accompaniments or garnishes, ensuring that all orders meet proper presentation and quality standards, packaging take-out orders as needed, dispensing or preparing beverages including alcoholic beverages (following proper procedures)

 ▪ Calculates bills and collects payment from guests or tickets from members

 ▪ Provides members and guests with efficient food service by maintaining attractively merchandised display foods, clean tables, counters, dishes, chairs, floors and equipment

▪ Maintains an efficiently run snack bar by managing cash drawer (verifying the balance, counting the money and recording the amount and balances at the end of each day), informing management supply shortages and customer requests/comments, monitoring daily play on the course or upcoming events which might affect snack bar operations

 ▪ Follows closing procedures (turning off and cleaning appropriate service machines, retrieving condiments, utensils and paper products, storing perishables, preparing the order sheet for the following day and locking snack bar area)

 ▪ Adheres to all safety, sanitation, food preparation, food storage and alcohol beverage control policies Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintains effective communication skills by interacting professionally with co-workers
  • May be required to assist in training other cooks
  • Implements and supports all American Golf initiatives and programs as requested by management
  • Receives and signs for deliveries of food and beverage.
  • Assists other food and beverage outlets as requested by management
  • May assist in training other snack bar attendants
  • Implements and supports all American Golf initiatives and programs as requested by management • Other duties may be assigned by management

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Previous cooking experience recommended
  • Excellent oral communication skills required
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to memorize complex order or multiple orders
  • Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English
  • Food Handlers Card

 

Education

  • High School diploma or GED

Working Conditions

  • Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required
  • Able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull.  The employee may be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
